DEFINITIONS:

NICET:  Stands for National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies.   NICET is a testing and certifying agency.  They offer certification programs in more than 40 technical fields of which Fire Alarm Systems is just one.

NICET Tests:  In Fire Alarm Systems, your NICET test will consist of 1-34 work elements.  You have the choice as to which work elements appear on your test.  Usually it is more advantageous to take 34 work elements on your NICET test.

Work Elements:  A work element is a specific topic in fire alarm systems.  Your NICET test will include questions for each topic, or work element, for which you signed up.  Each work element will have 5-15 test questions associated with it.
