NICET Level 1 & 2 Online Classroom Series (Webinar)

This training course incorporates 8 hours of instructor led training and more than 30 hours of online training.  It is specifically designed to prepare fire alarm technicians for the challenges associated with the NICET Certification exam for Level 1 & 2.  The highlights of this training experience are as follows:

• Each student will receive the NTC Red Book, NICET Study Guide
• Each student will receive the NTC Orange Book, Chuck Notes to the Codes
• Instruction on how the NICET Certification process works
• Detailed coverage of how to use the codes to find information quickly
• The critical requirements from NFPA 72, the National Fire Alarm Code
• The critical fire alarm requirements from NFPA 101, the Life Safety Code
• The critical fire alarm requirements from NFPA 70, the National Electrical Code
• More than 200 sample test questions are covered in class
• Effective study techniques for exam preparation
• In depth coverage of required references
• Each student will receive a certificate of completion

 

This is an Online Classroom.  This course is designed to be conducted in 4 sessions, normally over a 4 week period.  Each session will consist of a 2 hour block of instruction.  Students will have a total of 8 contact hours with the instructor.  In addition, all participants will be provided with access to NTC's online training network.  This access includes all NICET Level 1 and 2 work element training modules.

 

During the first session of this course, the students will learn NICET policies and procedures, test taking strategies, and methods for quickly finding information in the required references.  This is section of the course lays the ground work for everything else which follows.

 

During the second session, NFPA 72 is covered in depth.  Students will learn code requirements and how to use the code to find requirements.  Additionally the other codes and references are covered.  This section of the course provides an in depth understanding of the purpose of each code and how the codes are used to determine requirements and the best protection.  NFPA 101, The Life Safety Code and NFPA 70, The National Electrical Code fire alarm requirements are explained in detail here as well.

 

The third session of this course starts out with NICET Level I work elements.  The subjects of each work element are covered as well as passing strategies for the work elements.  Sample test questions are provided for every Level I work element.

 

The fourth session focuses on NICET Level II work elements.  All of these elements have sample questions as well to help attendees get familiar with NICET Test Questions.  A sample test is administered with this course.
