An understanding of proper fire alarm system design is a critical job function for anyone involved in fire alarm systems work. A proper understanding of the fire alarm codes helps the fire alarm professional to achieve the desired life safety results by designing and installing code-compliant fire alarm systems.

NTC’s Fire Alarm System Design training is intended for fire alarm professionals who are involved in the design, sale, installation, troubleshooting, and servicing of fire alarm systems. This course discusses proper application of the fire alarm codes and reinforces the student’s ability to properly apply the codes. Students attending this course will develop a stronger understanding of fire alarm systems, including the requirements of NFPA 72 (National Fire Alarm Code), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), and the IBC (International Building Code).

Students of this course will learn how fire alarm codes are used and how to apply them to their real life projects. Students will experience fire alarm system design and code application by applying their knowledge to sample fire alarm system projects. The course is taught by experienced NICET Certified instructors who will guide the students through the design process.
