NTC Welcomes Two New Instructors

After a nationwide search, low voltage training provider, National Training Center has selected two new instructors. These gentlemen will travel across the country providing low voltage and NICET prep training to over 2,000 people annually.

Introducing, Gene Lavalle and Kile Unterzuber:

 

Gene LaValle brings more than forty years of experience in the security and fire industry. Having worked in manufacturing sales and later distribution, his knowledge of low voltage systems is well-established. 
LaValle has represented the alarm industry on a variety of NFPA technical committees including Safety to Life, Carbon Monoxide Sensors and Airport Facilities.  His hands on experience with intrusion, access control, surveillance and fire alarm ranges from component level troubleshooting and repair, to systems design and integration.
As an active instructor with the Electronic Security Association, Gene has been averaging one instructor lead training per month for the past several years; he boasts NICET Level III certification and maintains fire alarm licenses in Ohio, Georgia and Texas.

Kile Unterzuber, SET, CFPS, MCP, comes to NTC with over thirty-eight years experience in the industry. In the years between graduating cum laude from Harvard College and the present, Unterzuber has managed security systems design, installation, and service and in the management of contract security services. In 1992, he started his security consulting career and has continued to provide support to a wide variety of Fortune 500 clients over the last twenty years.

 

In addition to his Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification, Unterzuber is certified as a Senior Engineering Technician in Fire Protection Technology by the National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET). He is also a Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), one of fewer than 2,000 individuals certified in this category by the National Fire Protection Association.

 

With decades of experience dedicated to training and educational programs, he was recognized as the 2005 Instructor of the Year by the Electronic Security Association and has written fourteen courses accepted for CEUs by National and State licensing boards, including the North Carolina Board of Examiners of Electrical Contractors and the North Carolina Alarm Systems Licensing Board.
